Street Cleansing Operative

Pertemps are recruiting for a Street Cleansing Operative based in Llanelli on a temporary basis to deliver a high-quality grounds maintenance service across a range of public open spaces.

Salary: £12.84 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 15:00
(Flexibility required – occasional early starts and some weekend working may be necessary)
Location: Llanelli
The role:

• Sweep, collect and remove litter, leaves, weeds and waste from public areas including roads, pavements and shopping areas
• Lift, move, empty and return refuse containers such as wheelie bins, household bins, sacks and recycling containers
• Collect fly-tipping and carry out litter picking in allocated areas as directed
• Assist the vehicle driver with safe manoeuvring during collections and at disposal sites
• Drive a cleansing or refuse vehicle when required.
• Report defects, missed collections, spillages and operational issues to the Refuse Supervisor or Area Controller
• Support other duties within the refuse and cleansing service when required

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Experience working in front-line environmental or cleansing services
• Experience using powered tools, mechanical equipment or plant
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
