Packing Operative

Pertemps are looking for a reliable, quick-thinking individual to join a busy production team as a Packing Operative on the night shift. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for someone who’s proactive, physically fit, and eager to grow within the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Packing products on 3 production lines, ensuring accuracy and consistent quality
  
  
• Picking products off the line and placing them in designated locations
  
  
• Manual handling, including some heavy lifting of finished goods
  
  
• Supporting the team to meet production and efficiency targets
  
  
• Understanding what to do in the event of a machine breakdown, escalate as required
  
  
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area, following hygiene and PPE standards
  
  
• Operating safely around machinery and in palletising areas
  
  
• Counterbalance Forklift (CB) licence desirable but not essential
  
   
  
  

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in packing, warehouse, or manufacturing (especially food or FMCG)
  
  
• A strong, quick learner who can work well under pressure
  
  
• Good physical fitness and awareness of manual handling safety
  
  
• Team-focused and willing to help wherever needed
  
  
• Reliable, punctual, and looking for long-term progression

You’ll begin on day shifts (07:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday) for approximately 4 weeks for full training, before moving to permanent nights (Monday to Friday, 19:30 PM - 06:00 AM).


Pay - £14.48 per hour
