Job Description
Location: Hybrid Working in Wales
Assignment Length: 3 Month Assignment
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Pay: £24.25 per hour - equivalent of £46,662 annually
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Analyst to join a well established public sector organisation supporting a range of digital, data and technology projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled analyst to play a key role in delivering data driven insights, supporting strategic projects and helping improve the way data is managed, interpreted and utilised across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support data analysis activities across projects and operational workstreams
- Prepare, manage and interpret complex datasets using appropriate analytical and statistical techniques
- Support colleagues with analytical tools, coding approaches and data management best practice
- Develop and maintain high standards of data quality, governance, metadata and documentation
- Create clear and accessible reports, dashboards and data visualisations to support decision making
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver meaningful insights
- Support data mapping, migration and transformation activities across legacy and future systems
- Contribute to the development of data tools, processes and technologies
- Identify and resolve data quality issues through validation and cleansing activities
- Ensure data ethics, privacy and compliance standards are maintained throughout projects
- Support delivery of digital and data focused projects from planning through to implementation
About You
We are looking for a highly analytical and technically capable data professional who can confidently work independently whilst also collaborating effectively across teams.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience working in a Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst position
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex information clearly
- Experience working with large and complex datasets with excellent attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of tools such as Python, R, SQL and Microsoft technologies including Power BI, Azure, Excel and Power Platform
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, data standards and lifecycle management
- Experience working within cloud based or data rich environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non technical stakeholders
- The ability to manage workloads independently and adapt within a fast paced environment
- Relevant qualifications, certifications or equivalent industry experience within data analytics or related fields
