We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to join our growing team at the East Midlands Gateway. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to drive operational excellence and lead a team within a fast-paced logistics environment.


As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will oversee daily warehouse activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of goods. You will lead a team of 10-15 warehouse operatives, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to achieve performance targets and maintain high standards of safety and quality.

You’ll play a key part in the leadership team, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and health & safety regulations.



This role is offered on a temporary to permanent basis, with a view to start at the back end of August 2025 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the warehouse team to deliver operational targets

  • Supervise loading, unloading, picking, and packing processes

  • Monitor team performance against KPIs such as accuracy, productivity, and service levels

  • Promote a strong health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with QSHE standards

  • Conduct daily briefings and provide coaching, feedback, and performance reviews

  • Plan resource allocation and manage work priorities across shifts

  • Ensure accurate stock management, including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement using lean practices

  • Engage with internal stakeholders, clients, suppliers, and carriers to maintain service excellence

 

About You

We’re looking for a confident and adaptable leader with:

  • Proven supervisory experience in a logistics or warehouse environment

  • Strong leadership, team coordination, and people management skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Experience with warehouse management systems and general IT tools

  • Good understanding of warehouse operations, including goods-in, picking, packing, and dispatch

  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and Dangerous Goods compliance (preferred)

  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification desirable
