πΌ Agency position (potential for long-term placement)
Are you passionate about supporting children with behavioural and emotional needs? Do you have the resilience, empathy, and confidence to make a real difference in a childβs school experience?
We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils who require additional help with emotional regulation, social skills, and positive engagement with learning.
This is a rewarding role where you will become a key adult in a childβs school life β helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
Your Role Will Include:
β Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring for pupils with behavioural or SEMH needs
β Supporting children with emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and social skills
β Implementing behaviour support plans in collaboration with teachers and the SENCO
β Assisting pupils during lessons, transitions, playtimes, and unstructured periods
β Using de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviour calmly and safely
β Building positive, consistent relationships that promote trust and stability
β Monitoring progress and providing feedback to school staff and the agency
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
πΉ Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, mentoring, care, coaching, etc.)
πΉ A calm, patient and resilient approach
πΉ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
πΉ Understanding of behaviour management or SEMH needs (desirable)
πΉ A proactive and team-focused attitude
πΉ A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
