Minibus Driver – Alternative Education Provision
Location: Durham
Hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

We are supporting an independent alternative education provision supporting secondary-aged students who thrive outside of mainstream education – and we’re looking for a reliable, friendly, and down-to-earth Minibus Driver to join our team.

This role isn’t just about driving – it’s about building rapport, setting the tone for the day, and being a positive influence for young people who may have become disengaged with education.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Driving a 15-seater manual minibus to transport students to and from the provision and off-site activities
• Supporting students during trips, activities, and on occasion, within the classroom environment
• Building positive relationships and providing a consistent, calm presence

What We’re Looking For:

• A full, clean UK driving licence with experience driving manual vehicles
• Confidence driving a larger vehicle (15-seater minibus)
• A great sense of humour and the ability to chat with young people in a relaxed, appropriate way
• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in working with students who need a different kind of support
• A current DBS or willingness to apply for a DBS

Experience working with young people is a bonus – but more important is your attitude, approach, and willingness to get stuck in.
