Exciting Opportunity for a Physics Teacher at a High-Achieving Independent School in Durham!

 

Are you an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Physics Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in a supportive and high-performing school? This role will start after the Easter break and is expected to run until the summer, with a 0.8 timetable initially available. However, full-time applicants will also be considered for the right candidate.

 

The Role:
As a Physics Teacher, you will join a successful Science department and deliver high-quality lessons that inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for the subject. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and delivering engaging Physics lessons in line with the curriculum
  • Inspiring students to develop a strong understanding of scientific principles and real-world applications
  • Assessing students’ work and providing constructive feedback to support progress
  • Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages academic curiosity
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the Science department to share resources and best practice

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • Experience teaching Physics at secondary school level
  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate high-achieving students
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification (desirable)
