The Role
A secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their department from September 2026 on a long-term assignment.
The role involves teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and structured lessons that support strong progress and attainment. You will play a key role in preparing students for GCSE English, helping to develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills across a range of abilities.
Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
  • Hold QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
  • Have experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Be confident delivering GCSE English Language and Literature
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Be committed to supporting pupil progress and attainment
